By default, TSU may release a student's 目录信息. 学生 may prohibit (or block) the public disclosure of 目录信息 by 完成一个 隐私屏蔽 form. 

目录信息的用途

The primary purpose of 目录信息 is to allow TSU to include information from your education records in certain school publications. 例子包括:

  • A playbill showing a student’s role in a drama production;
  • Honor roll or other academic recognition lists;
  • Graduation programs; and
  • 体育 activity sheets, such as for wrestling, show team members' weight and height.

目录信息, which is information that is generally not considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if released, can also be disclosed to outside organizations without a student’s prior written consent. If you do not want TSU to disclose any or all of the types of information designated below as 目录信息 from your education record without your prior written consent, you must notify the college or district in writing. TSU has designated the following information as 目录信息:

  • 名字
  • address
  • 电话号码
  • TSU电子邮件地址
  • 照片
  • 电子图像
  • 出生地点
  • 主要研究领域
  • participation in officially recognized activities
  • 出席日期
  • 度
  • 获得奖项和学术荣誉
  • 院长名单的选择

  • program and promotional materials on participants in various sports and similar public activities, including weights and heights of athletic team members

Withholding Release of 目录信息

学生 should carefully consider the consequences of a decision to withhold 目录信息. A privacy block will call for TSU not to release this 目录信息. 因此, any future requests for such information from non-institutional persons or organizations will be refused.

Although TSU will honor a student's request to withhold 目录信息, it 不能承担责任 for contacting the student for subsequent permission to release this information. Regardless of the effect upon the student, the university assumes no liability due to honoring a student's instructions to withhold such information.

其他一些注意事项:

  • If a student blocks 目录信息, it still may be inspected by those TSU officials authorized by law to inspect education records without consent.
  • If a student chooses to block 目录信息, 不能透露给朋友, 家庭, 未来的雇主, 新闻媒体, 顾问, 学生活动, 荣誉社团.
  • Some reasons for considering a privacy block on 目录信息 include harassment or the advice of a legal or medical professional.
  • If a student chooses to block 目录信息, then no information from the student's education record will be released to military recruiters as specified in the Solomon Amendment. Learn more about data sharing for military recruitment.

移除隐私块

If a student wishes to remove the privacy block, he or she must rescind the previous block by completing the Revocation of Request to Withhold 目录信息. TSU assumes responsibility for contacting students for subsequent permission to release this information. It is the sole responsibility of the student to initiate the release of blocked information.
